TITLE:  Business Manager (30 hours per week)                                       2019-2020

 Reports to:   Executive Director                                                                    FLSA Status: Non-exempt  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Compile and submit attendance information for payroll submission.
  2. Conduct invoice activities to include verify the authenticity of all invoices/bills, secure approval, as well as issue reimbursement and expense checks.
  3. Run pre-approved credit card payments as needed.
  4. Create and maintain an updated tuition and program fees spreadsheet and follow-up on past due accounts.
  5. Prepare all cash deposits for PTO and school accounts; process checks for online deposit.
  6. Input and maintain information (monetary and in-kind) into the donor database.
  7. In consultation and conjunction with contracted fundraising consultant and Fundraising/Development Assistant, create and maintain various financial spreadsheets necessary to document fundraising events revenues/donations, etc.
  8. Manage insurance including workers compensation for organization, as well as human resource and employee benefit packages.
  9. In conjunction with the Executive Director and Principal, assist in developing the organization’s annual budget. 
  10. Assist in developing budgets for ancillary services and programs as well as grant applications.
  11. In conjunction with Executive Director, serve as point of contact for annual audit preparation.
  12. Manage and supervise petty cash.
  13. Perform other clerical duties as needed.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of bookkeeping as well as accounting techniques and procedures is required.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required.  Proficiency in donor recognition software and standard financial and accounting packages (QuickBooks, Peachtree, etc.) is required as well as strong mathematical skills.   Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work as a key contributor on a team are essential.  Time management, organizational, and attention to detail are essential skills.  A professional demeanor is required at all times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, as well as minimum of 3-5 years previous experience in bookkeeping and accounting.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Job is performed in an office environment.  Position may required lifting of items of 50 lbs., assisting in student transfers, standing, stooping, teaching, grasping.   

CONTACTS:

The Business Manager works closely with all School employees and outside vendors. The position will also interface with members of the Board of Directors, donors, parents, and students.
