Description: Amana Academy is a thriving Expeditionary Learning School located north of the city of Atlanta, Georgia. Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of professional experience in development and/or events management
  • Excellent command of office technology including Microsoft Word, Excel and database software; Salesforce experience preferred 
  • Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in person, on the phone, via email and in written correspondence
  • Discretion and tact in handling confidential information
  • A collaborative spirit and strong team ethic

Event Management

  • In collaboration with the Sustainability Director, Executive Director and Title 1 Parent Liaison, coordinate logistics for all fundraising events, including ChangeMaker Faire, Donor Stewardship events, volunteer appreciation events, etc.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with service providers within and outside of the school, e.g. caterers, Human IT, florists, printers, etc.

Donor Management

  • Collaborate with the Sustainability Director, Executive Director and Board Fund Development Committee in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospective and current donors
  • Serve as a liaison and work with volunteers/prospects to set up and schedule solicitation meetings
  • Prepare background materials for solicitors and meeting materials for prospects 
  • Organize cultivation, briefing and stewardship events to engage prospects and thank donors
  • Acknowledge all gifts
  • Generate pledge reminders once per quarter
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring information is tracked and acknowledgements and reminders are sent within a timely manner
  • Participate in Fund Development Committee meetings to discuss plans for cultivation, stewardship and solicitation of donors, as well as weekly meetings with the Sustainability Director.

Administrative Support

  • Maintains established office files and records in accordance with internal procedures
  • Drafts and types routine letters, reports, and memoranda from specific instructions
  • Gathers relevant data and compiles statistics and information from identified sources
  • Produces a variety of correspondence and reports using software for storing, retrieving, formatting and integrating data
  • Undertakes projects as assigned to support office functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
