Job Title – Communications and Development Intern
Reports To: Communications Manager

Key Purpose of the Role:
The Communications and Development Intern is responsible for assisting the Communications and Development Program in implementing GCAPP’s overall communications, marketing and development plan --focusing specifically on digital communications and providing administrative support for individual giving campaigns and fundraising events -- to build awareness about GCAPP through the state of Georgia, and to increase engagement online and through giving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn) and editorial calendar to ensure content is timely, relevant, and engaging
- Draft weekly e-newsletters to GCAPP subscribers
- Prepare weekly updates and reports to track growth and success rates of campaigns
- Keep up to date and informed on new social media trends and adapt accordingly
- Identify leaders and influencers (internal/external) and engage them in brand activities
- Assist with website copywriting, proofing, and updating as needed
- Assist with data entry and mailings related to fundraising campaigns
- Write/assist with content for donor newsletter
Experience
Essential
- Current graduate students in communications, marketing and graphic design
- Organized multitasker
- Works well with minimal supervision while delivering high results
- High attention to detail
- Ability to process multiple requests

- Current first or second year in communications, marketing and graphic design
- High sense of individual accountability
- Ability to set and manage expectations at all levels
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Intermediate Microsoft Office – including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Prezi
- Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable
- Up to date knowledge of adobe creative suite experience
- Understand and can utilize emerging platforms, digital media, and web/social media management and measurement tools
