The Manager of Center Programs reports to the Director of Programs and will work cooperatively with all staff to plan and oversee high quality, direct program services for members that meets required deliverables, supervise program staff, and complete reporting and administrative duties.

This position will oversee the Girls Inc. Afterschool and Summer Camp Programs as well as other special events and must be able to have a flexible schedule to meet these different needs, including occasional evening & weekend programming.

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Be a knowledgeable leader in the organization of the Girls Inc. mission, and approach, national resources and curriculum as well as the development needs of girls and youth development best practices
  • Manage center operations to meet budget and enrollment goals
  • Collaborate with the Director of Programs to recruit and train qualified program staff
  • Collaborate with the Director of Programs to ensure effective program delivery
  • Communicate with parents:
    •  Regarding current programming content, goals, evaluations and outcomes.
    • in a way that promotes their engagement in their child’s development, strengthens relationships between parents and the organization, resolves any conflicts, and represents the values of Girls Inc.
  • Work closely with the Program Director to ensure participation in Girls Inc. network-wide outcomes measurement strategy: ensure use of girl-tracking system to collect girl data regularly and survey girls annually, as well as for continuous program improvement
  • Coordinate all aspects of the summer food service program to ensure the program is operating per requirements
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager to ensure student and employee safety in the center
  • Work with the Development Manager to assist in the management of volunteers to assist in the delivery of high-quality programming in line with organizational goals
  • Identify, establish, and nurture community resources to increase program opportunities for girls
  • Participate in staff meetings and conferences to share ideas and concerns, and work collaboratively with other staff to meet organizational goals and achieve program objectives
  • Participate in training and other professional development opportunities as appropriate
  • Provide Girls Inc. general and program-specific training, some professional development opportunities and subject-specific training based on member needs assessments
  • Other administrative duties or special projects that may be assigned from time to time
  • Collaborate with school, community, and corporate partners to build strong relationships, create innovative programming partnerships, and support fundraising efforts while positively representing Girls Inc.
  • Actively recruit participants for all activities; ensure that programs are designed and developed to maintain membership and sustained exposure to Girls Inc. programs.
  • Plan and coordinate a wide range of program logistics including space, food, transportation, supplies, etc. for dialing programing as well as special events and field trips for girls, volunteers, program partners and parents.
  • Work with finance and operations department to ensure programs are staying with in the designated budget, work collaboratively to maintain supplies, as well as order or perform cost analysis of supplies and activities as needed and maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the Girls Inc. building and vans.
  • Oversees the tracking of all center program records including member database management. Generates monthly, quarterly, annual and as needed program narrative and statistical reports for center(s) programming for the purpose of program improvement, internal reports, funding reports, and marketing.
  • Ensure that all members have been picked up at end of all GIGA programs and that the building is safe and secure daily before departure
  • Plan and manage special events as needed.
  • Complete other requests/responsibilities as assigned by CEO
  • Drive van as needed

 Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with undergraduate or graduate level courses in education, child development, recreation, psychology, and/or sociology
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a youth organization or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, volunteer management, and program development, administration and evaluation
  • Highly organized with strong database and data management skills
  • Ability to be flexible in scheduling of work hours
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal direct supervision
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Capable and willing to drive 15 passenger van and/or mini-bus
  • Clean driving record
  • Spanish speaking a plus
