Position Summary
The Music4Schools Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of high caliber music programs at elementary Schools across the Bay Area. The Music4Schools Program Manager is a leadership position that involves hiring, training and evaluation of faculty and curriculum development. This position requires experience in both program and team management and has one direct staff report.
Objectives of this Position
Develop, implement, and maintain Music4Schools programs and initiatives reflecting the mission and goals of CSMA
Oversee staff and faculty, ensuring students receive an optimum music education and program goals are reached
Meet with stakeholders to maintain excellent communication and to ensure transparency
Manage program to annual budget
Develop evaluation methods to assess program strengths and to identify areas for improvement
Produce accurate and timely program status reports
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Music4Schools TK - 5 Program
Manage overall program operations, including hiring, training, supporting and evaluating faculty and staff
Develop and maintain school relationships, including documentation of services, scheduling and annual surveys
Assist in developing annual budget and manage expenses to meet goals
Oversee review of existing curriculum and new curriculum development to meet State and National standards
Young Musicians Program
Oversee the summer string and band programs serving rising 6th graders
Assist faculty in selecting participants, program development and scheduling
Other
Support Program Coordinator in management of Chorus Program
Plan and work in collaboration with Art4Schools Program Manager
Analyze and report on program achievements and challenges
Qualifications
Exceptional leadership and communications skills
MA in Music or Music Education or equivalent experience
5+ years experience in program and team management
Track record in setting and achieving program and budget goals
Experience in curriculum development and knowledge of State and National standards as they pertain to the arts
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years experience teaching music in an elementary school classroom
Understanding of Vocal-based General Music, including Kodaly & Orff methodologies
Understanding of Instrumental Music, including Recorder, Band & Strings
Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Google Drive
