The Westside Future Fund, Inc. (WFF), a not-for-profit organization, was founded by leading Atlanta corporations, the Atlanta mayor, and other local organizations to revitalize the Historic Westside neighborhoods of English Avenue, Vine City, Ashview Heights (also includes “Just Us” and the “Historic Booker T. Position Description: The accounting manager will be responsible for the activities related to the General Ledger and all subledgers including all transactional data, month-end closings, reconciliations and reporting; provide direct support to the Controller and support the day-to-day accounting operations for the not-for-profit.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Fixed Asset transactional data including new assets and depreciation schedules
  • Process Accounts Payable invoices, ensuring accurate coding of all invoices
  • Process Accounts Receivable/Cash Receipts and deposits
  • Maintain the General Ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and process journal entries as needed
  • Maintain the W9 and COI files, Process Year-end 1099s
  • Reconcile the Restricted Funds Bank Account to the Restricted programs balance monthly to ensure all receipts and expenditures are property recorded
  • Assist with the annual audit by preparing audit schedules as requested

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Solid understanding of internal accounting controls and procedures unique to not-for-profits,prior not-for-profit experience preferred
  • Detailed oriented, organized and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Impeccable ethics
  • Ability to work closely and communicate with senior management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other relevant department software. MRI experience preferred
  • Compassion for people and desire to build inclusive community

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Required
  • Solid 5+ years of accounting experience Required
