We’re in the midst of a website redesign and growing our audience on social media. We’re looking for a new team member to play a key role in our digital efforts. The Digital Media and Content Coordinator will play an active role in the growth of Yosemite Conservancy’s online presence and community. This position will bring the voice and tone of the Conservancy to our website and social media communities as we build a more robust and vibrant community online for our supporters and program participants. Additionally, this role will support the marketing team’s brand and image asset resources. Since this position touches many areas, the professional in this role will report to the Marketing and Communications Director, working closely with the marketing team and fellow colleagues to execute strategic marketing and communications tactics. S/he will work with outside vendors who provide web and digital services.:

Social Media Content:

  • Generates and posts social content for sharing across social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Monitors and engages Conservancy social communities to increase positive brand awareness; works cross-functionally with colleagues and park partners as appropriate based on community topics
  • Recommends enhancements to social community tactics based on evolving channel dynamics
  • Assists team with any paid social elements of digital campaigns
  • Assists team with analytics for related social dashboards

Website Content & Webcams:

  • Provides day-to-day management of web marketing and branding content that keeps the site fresh; seasonally connects with Yosemite and the Conservancy’s work in the park, including annual program and grant updates; maintains site Press Room assets and resources for media
  • Assists team with integrated cross-functional digital efforts with website serving as primary gateway to Conservancy digital content
  • Serves as point-of-contact for site’s SEO base maintenance and related enhancements
  • Manages Conservancy webcams; works with park and technology partners; ensures CMS is accessible; updates for staff use and for optimal website presence and web visitor experience
  • Assists team with analytics for related web dashboards

Brand and Image Asset Resources:

  • Assists manager of online digital asset database with image uploads, metadata updates; serves as the primary liaison for staff and vendor database questions
  • Assists marketing team with photo shoot planning and logistics
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for marketing collateral and brand identity assets for internal and external requests

Other:

  • Serves as back-up to marketing team members for work-related travel and vacations
  • Assists with developing marketing presentations for Conservancy president and for board, council and committee meetings
  • Supports the Marketing & Communications Director on projects as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion for conservation and protection of our parks and wilderness areas
  • Familiar with / visited Yosemite National Park – commitment to the mission of Yosemite Conservancy
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or related area
  • 2 Years Post-college work experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
  • Direct, hands-on experience supporting a brand’s social presence with outward-facing communication
  • Experience with social media copywriting and asset coordination for marketing and branding efforts
  • Passion for social media, building online communities and storytelling
  • Ability to identify a target market and “speak” to them through digital channels
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite; proficient in Photoshop and video editing tools
  • Proficient with social media platforms and scheduling tools, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, social media management software, etc.
  • Experience using web content management systems to update website content and imagery
  • Experience with website, social media and Google analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including eagle-eye editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Able to prioritize, quickly manage multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines
  • Self-starter; takes initiative in taking on new projects
  • Creative thinker and problem solver with a calm and flexible demeanor

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Occasional travel to/from Yosemite National Park and the San Francisco Bay Area; may walk on uneven ground while on trails in Yosemite National Park
  • Some weekend and evening responsibilities
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Predominately works at desk/computer workstation
  • Frequently moves about the office to collaborate with colleagues
  • Lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 30 pounds
