STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE TO THE COMPANY:
A Retention Coach is a critical member of our Ministry by ensuring employment retention through supporting, advising, and reinforcing key training lessons to the client building solutions to any barriers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains relationship/communication with employed clients, including regular one-on-one meetings to assess and address any needs
- Encourages and motivates employed clients to reach their personal and professional goals
- Builds trust and works with clients to slow down and connect them to the big picture of their definition of success
- Collaborates with Atlanta Mission’s corporate employment partners to ensure top-rate retention and continued partnership with hiring companies
- Utilizes outreach tactics outlined in curriculum in order to ensure clients remain engaged with Atlanta Mission after moving into housing
- Assists clients with issues related to finances which includes budgeting and navigating resources when financial assistance is needed
- Holds responsibility for the job retention of clients for at least 1 year
- Maintains internal processing database to document work activity, client progress and communications on all clients
- Prepares individual outcome reports, upholding a high standard of data integrity
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong desire to work in a Christian ministry and passion for serving those experiencing homelessness
- Strong computer literacy in MS Office with concentration in Excel and PowerPoint, Salesforce experience preferred
- Strong project management skills and the ability to organize, multitask and prioritize a heavy workload
- Ability to organizes and prioritizes workload to ensure client’s needs are met in a timely manner
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to have flexible, unconventional hours in order to meet clients where they are and accommodate work schedules
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
- instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- High energy and ability to engage others towards a common goal.
- Strong work ethic and business acumen with ability to excel in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of professional experience and or equivalent
- Outstanding client service
- Skilled in personal coaching on a one-on-one and group setting
- Analytical thinker adept in systems and processes
- Demonstrated work history of resourcefulness and problem solving
- Ability to effectively manage multiple activities and projects at once
- High energy and ability to engage others towards a common goal
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working with economically-disadvantaged populations, ideally in a coaching capacity
- Experience working in for-profit sector
- Knowledge of financial literacy and budgeting
- Knowledge of addiction and recovery, homelessness, domestic violence, mental health, or Metro Atlanta’s criminal justice system.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, sitting and/or walking)
- Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator and computer printer
- Must be able to communicate accurate information
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
- Must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors, to adjust focus and maintain close and distance vision
ENVIORNMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions during events
- Occasionally exposed to environmental fumes from plants near work location
- Moderate noise as in a business office environment
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: (OPTIONAL SECTION: ANY TRAVEL, SECURITY, RISK, HAZARD OR RELATED SPECIAL CONDITION WHICH APPLY TO THE POSITION)
- Travel to Chicago for training with Cara Chicago for first 3 weeks of employment
- Travel to various locations in the city and to clients’ work locations, as needed
