Position Description:
O.U.T.cast Youth Project (OcYP) is a substance use, HIV and viral hepatitis prevention program for at risk, racial and ethnic minority youth ages 18-24 living in San Francisco. The Substance Use Coordinator works directly with the Project Director, stakeholders and technical experts to conduct and implement all aspects of the project.
Essential Functions:
• Work closely with the Project Director to ensure program deliverables are being met
• Coordinate and implement all aspects of the program activities and interventions
• Develop and conduct participant recruitment plans
• Provide ongoing support to all program participants
• Implement all project interventions including Community PROMISE and Lead & Seed interventions, ongoing support of youth participants, and all project management coordination to ensure all OcYP activities are completed
• Work directly with the evaluator to collect and analyze data
• Ensure compliance with all outreach, promotion, and recruitment policies and procedures and overall quality of HIV and substance abuse prevention services
• Regularly participate in necessary conference calls, webinars, and trainings
• Work with collaborating partners and agencies to ensure strong partnerships are maintained
• Assists with other administrative duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in health or related field
• Master’s Degree in Public Health preferred
• Experience working in a substance use program or equivalent
• Must be familiar with program evaluation particularly outcome, process and formative evaluation
• Must be familiar with data collection processes and procedures associated with these type of evaluation activities
• Experience with implementing change within health care systems
• Familiarity with issues faced by the transgender community
• Experience implementing new programs
• Ability to travel locally across the region
• At least two years’ experience supervising and leading teams
• Significant experience managing collaborative relationships and partnerships
• Demonstrated experience community organizing and mobilizing communities for action
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization skills
• Self-directed, motivated and flexible with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in health or related field
• Bilingual and bicultural
