Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Education and Digital Services Team is hiring an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Manager who will work across the organization and with partners to implement early learning initiatives for children ages 2-8 that serve to augment and extend the reach and value of GPB and PBS/PBS KIDS.
Candidate Responsibilities:

● Manage GPB’s existing early learning initiatives and staff; provide expertise on how best to engage and support children, families, caregivers, and educators in both formal and informal settings, especially those in Georgia’s high-needs communities; and the development, implementation, iteration, and scaling of PBS KIDS family and community learning workshops, kids camps, engagement models, professional development, and outreach resources.

● Project manage all aspects of existing programs including the development of project documents, timelines, reports, and deliverables.
● Cultivate and maintain partnerships with early learning educators, libraries, afterschool programs, community partners, school districts, child care centers, and other educational organizations to facilitate learning through a variety of media-rich, interactive learning experiences.

● Serve as subject matter expert in early childhood education, staying current in requisite skills and sharing new knowledge and practices with relevant team members.

● Elevate GPB and PBS KIDS content and the family and community engagement models by seeking out, submitting proposals, and speaking and facilitating at statewide conferences, workshops, and trainings.

● Work with PBS, CPB, and other public media system colleagues to ensure projects are developed and managed using best practices that align with goals and priorities.
● Accurately and enthusiastically represent GPB as a community service and PBS/PBS KIDS resources as key tools for advancing in-school and out-of-school learning, engagement, and fun.
● Serve as a guide and promoter of PBS LearningMedia, the digital portal to the PBS platform for formal and informal educators. Assist with GPB Education strategic initiatives as needed.
 

Candidate Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, early childhood education, or related field. Five years of experience managing and successfully implementing large scale, multi-faceted projects, preferably in early childhood education, experience in a supervisory role, training others, presenting to a group, and effective public speaking.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills, skilled in identifying problems, brainstorming potential solutions, and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage overlapping deadlines.

● Ability to manage resources to achieve project goals within time and budget constraints and collaborate as a team player with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.

● Passionate about connecting with children, families, educators, and caregivers.

● Ability to consistently demonstrates respect for inclusion, diversity, and ethics.

● Experience working in direct service of high needs communities.

● Familiarity with GPB and PBS KIDS programs and digital products for educators and families; and with family and community engagement models, methods, and strategies.

● Experience working, using, or developing digital media content for children and working in early childhood environments or with families of young children.

● Ability to practice innovative and creative thinking and to motivate others to do the same.

● Fluency in English and Spanish a plus. Some travel required. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, on occasion. Valid driver’s license.
