We’re hiring a self-motivated, hands-on and highly resourceful project manager with exceptional problem-solving skills to manage and help launch The Redford Center’s new environmental storytelling pilot program for middle schoolers. The ideal candidate will have experience building networks, preferably with teachers and schools, and will be an excellent and proactive communicator. We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our collaborative team, who prioritizes attention to detail and adherence to timelines and has the ability to keep team members on track. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director, will coordinate with other staff members to ensure all aspects of the project are being completed on time, will provide weekly project updates and will deliver a final project report.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall project plan to ensure smooth execution of the pilot program within the set timeline.
  • Manage execution of deliverables by other team members and consultants including but not limited to: curriculum development, web portal design and creation, and content creation.
  • Execute deliverables related to teacher outreach and engagement, and external program communications.
  • Build new network and database of schools and school contacts for The Redford Center, engaging in research when necessary.
  • Develop and execute teacher outreach, engagement and communications plan, that includes a tracking and feedback component.
  • Serve as primary teacher liaison once a teacher has committed to participate: answer questions, cultivate relationship, keep them accountable, motivated and encouraged.
  • Work directly with a 3 to 6 person teacher advisory group to get input on curriculum, website, legal permissions, program incentives, structure and impact.  
  • Manage correspondence with final selection committee.
  • Manage workflow of all program PR and content assets, including but not limited to: program announcements, press coverage and interviews, social media posts, newsletter modules, impact report and metrics.
  • Create and manage process for capturing outcomes and metrics from pilot program, with final program report due to The Redford Center by December 20, 2019.
  • Hold program debrief session with Redford Center team after teacher and student survey results are in, summarize input and integrate into final program report.
  • Manage distribution of all prizes, honorariums and participation incentives.
  • Liaise and coordinate logistics for all program travel and lodging.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in project management
  • Superior time management, communication and analytical skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Background and/or interest in environmental education preferred
