SENIOR STEWARDSHIP OFFICER

Have fun and do good as a Senior Stewardship Officer for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals Foundation. We are seeking an experienced candidate to develop and execute a high-quality stewardship program that inspires, celebrates, and delights our diverse donor community. The Senior Stewardship Officer works closely with internal and external stakeholders to advance the growth, development and reputation of the Foundation to become the philanthropic partner of choice. The successful candidate will be a creative and polished writer with impeccable attention to detail, a strategic thinker with a customer service focus, and a high-performing project manager. The Senior Stewardship Officer is a member of the External Relations team and reports to the Director of Foundation Communications.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for overall management and growth of the stewardship program including reporting, acknowledgements, donor recognition systems, and collateral production.
  • Collaborate with fundraising team to create individualized stewardship plans for the foundation’s top donors.
  • Develop and implement timely, creative, consistent, efficient and donor-centric donor reporting, acknowledgement, recognition programs and events.
  • Research, draft and edit accurate and compelling donor correspondence, communication pieces and narrative reports, and generate new ideas and strategies to enhance the stewardship program.
  • Manage all stewardship materials, including print, website, and social media to ensure effective messaging of donor stories and impact of giving.
  • Manage the production and installation of all donor recognition systems and programs (donor walls, signage, giving society listings, etc.) in conjunction with staff on both Oakland and San Francisco campuses.
  • Collaborate with fundraising team on giving milestones and corresponding naming and recognition opportunities.
  • Support the design, planning, and execution of stewardship events and activities.
  • Partner with annual fund team in the planning and execution of strategies for recognizing Hand in Hand giving circle donors.
  • Track and analyze outcomes of stewardship events, engagements, and activities.
  • Develop a program for collecting, analyzing and disseminating stewardship “best practices” to foundation colleagues.

Essential Requirements

  • At least three to five years experience working in non-profit fundraising environment with specific experience in stewardship activities and planning;
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff
  • Event management experience and donor program management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or comparable donor database software
  • Knowledge of design software (adobe creative suite) preferred
  • Proven ability to build deep and lasting relationships with a variety of internal partners, as well as vendors and donors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with the ability to work under deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform occasional weekend and evening work, and to adjust to other needs of the Foundation.

Minimum Education: BS/BA and related work experience required.
