Job Details
POSITION:
Georgia Legal Services seeks a staff attorney to work in its Dalton, Gainesville, Piedmont (Atlanta), and Albany Regional office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Circuit-ride to outlying counties; handle cases in state and federal court and administrative forums; conduct community legal education sessions and engage in outreach activities; participate with other advocates on action teams that explore and solve systemic issues affecting significant numbers of clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of accredited law school; Georgia Bar membership, or willing to take next exam (third-year law students are encouraged to apply); demonstrated interest or experience in working with low-income clients and/or on poverty law issues. Good oral advocacy, writing, and computer skills, and have a reliable car and driver’s license. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but is required in the Gainesville office.
