Jewish Family & Career Services “JF&CS” is a Georgia non-profit organization with a roughly 13 million dollar budget.  The agency makes hope and opportunity happen by providing integrated programs and services that maximize self-sufficiency and quality of life.  The JF&CS Foundation holds the agency’s endowment and restricted fund assets. JF&CS is now seeking a Director of Development.

Purpose:

The Director of Development serves as a key member of  the development department planning, directing and administering multiple development initiatives including but not limited to overseeing annual and other campaigns, prospecting, cultivation, stewardship and solicitation of major gifts, corporate and event sponsorships, and program level funding.  The role is responsible for ensuring all contributions are recorded, acknowledged and recognized in a timely and accurate way and that the department’s donor database is up-to-date, accurate and maintained to ensure the integrity of the data and related reports. This professional works closely with the CDO, agency leadership and staff to meet the challenges of building and strengthening the agency’s funding base in support of the JF&CS’ strategic plan, mission and programs. The DD reports to the CDO.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as manager of annual and other campaigns, orchestrating both internal staff and volunteer chairs, creating strategies and tactical plans to accomplish set campaign goals, overseeing volunteer solicitors, and managing all campaign-related events.
  • Supervises database administrator, and volunteer and events staff
  • Works closely with the CDO, members of the board, and fundraising committees to achieve strategic plan goals pertaining to resource development.
  • In collaboration with the CDO, plans and oversees a major gifts program, including prospecting, identification, cultivation, stewardship, solicitation and recognition
  • Collaborates with marketing in all fundraising initiatives, including developing together digital and social content, fundraising collateral, donor and sponsor recognition materials and all communications items needed for special events
  • Implements donor recognition and cultivation initiatives and events
  • Assists the CDO with the creation and implementation of endowment and planned giving campaigns
  • Together with CDO and Marketing Department participates in creating a corporate sponsorship strategy including development of sponsorship materials, solicitation process, and fulfillment of sponsor benefits.                                             
  • Working with program staff and the grants department, explores and manages program –level giving campaigns. 
  • Provides all financial reporting relating to donors for annual agency audit and grants department as needed.
  • Attends Chiefs & Directors Meetings, Directors Meetings when appropriate, and agency Board Meetings
  • Completes development projects from time to time as may be assigned by CDO or CEO
  • Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with individual and corporate donors and volunteer leadership.
  • Manages in-kind contributions and sponsorship of all special events and ensure that sponsorship benefits are fulfilled accurately and timely.
  • Work to develop new programs and other initiatives in support of fundraising activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and completeness of the donor database, including  overseeing the collection of all donor and prospect information in the database, which includes the supervision of all gift entry, donor notes, etc. to ensure accuracy, robust data, and timeliness
  • Analyze performance of fundraising communications and campaign and prepare relevant reports
  • Represent the organization externally to enhance awareness of its mission and accomplishments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.  Fundraising experience required.
