Organization Overview:

The Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) is a non-profit, multi-service organization focusing primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers.  We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.  

Position Summary:

The Database Manager (Manager) is responsible for all database maintenance, analysis, reporting, cleaning, and responding to all requests for information as well as the general functioning of the department’s data management. In this role the Manager will report to the Development Director and provide general support to the Development function during peak periods.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Communications or related field of study.
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience including annual campaigns and management experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in Raiser’s Edge, preferably as an administrator in a non-profit fundraising environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required (Proficiency with Office 365 preferred) and a demonstrated ability to perform mail-merge functions.
  • Ability to manage confidential information, multiple priorities and competing deadlines plus maintain an attention to detail. 
  • Proven experience utilizing analytical and strong problem solving skills. 
  • Strong ability and commitment to accuracy and database integrity.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and exercise independent action
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment and collaborate across departments
  • Able to work some evening and weekends as required.

Primary Duties:

  • Track donor performance and explore new strategies to maximize revenue.
  • Oversee all functions of Raiser’s Edge database management including data and gift entry, volunteer management, clean up and reporting.
  • Oversee all major gifts efforts by developing, maintaining, and updating information on new and existing donor prospects as well as producing donor and prospect profiles.
  • Routinely examine and clean current data records to ensure data accuracy to eliminate duplicate records, inconsistent data, to maintain overall database integrity and the accuracy of data imported and committed in the database.
  • Process contributions received through all giving mechanisms and disseminate information to Development and Finance staff.
  • Create and manage department dashboard for analysis, tracking metrics, fundraising and financial reporting.
  • Identify data that is to be captured and recorded in Raisers Edge and assist the Director of Development in determining the best structure.
  • Develop MS Excel spreadsheets tools to manipulate data where Raiser's Edge tools are insufficient.
  • Interacts with all necessary departments/divisions (particularly Finance) to analyze and gather report requirements for generating criteria and output.
  • Assess the organization's current database utilization and develop more effective policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain internal policies and procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of the database.
  • Develop and maintain standard queries and reports.
  • Perform all prospect research requests and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
