Repair with Kindness Program Associate

Overview:  Atlanta Habitat for Humanity transforms communities by acting as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization through education, innovative development, partnerships, and long-term relationships with families. The RWK Program Associate works closely with the RWK Program Manager to successfully execute our mission’s RWK Neighborhood Revitalization Program.


Position SummaryThe RWK Program Associate is responsible for working on critical repair projects for qualified homeowners in designated neighborhoods. This position reports to the Purchasing, Warehouse, and Facilities Manager.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Meeting with the homeowners, assessing the status of the sub-contractor’s work, preparing punch out lists and closing out and getting homeowner signoff. 
  • Reviewing and understanding construction plans
  • Assisting with repair-related inventory monitoring
  • Maintaining tools and equipment
  • Serve as a liaison to the homeowners during the process

Qualified candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of construction experience preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Current knowledge of residential construction techniques.
  • Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). 
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines and pay attention to details. 
  • Able to work well with all staff, homeowners, independent contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds, perform heavy manual tasks, work standing or walking for a significant portion of the work day, and be capable of performing outside duties under all weather conditions.
  • Able to respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively.

Position is classified as full-time non-exempt.  Staff hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Mondays through Fridays. Some flexibility in hours is required. Frequent driving around the City of Atlanta and South Fulton County is required - candidates must have a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers’ license.
