Part time Office Assistant
Cancer Support Community Atlanta (affiliated with Northside Hospital Cancer Institute) is seeking a part-time office assistant for approximately 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be self-starting and able to work independently. Because the position involves personal and phone contact with participants, their families, and community agencies, it requires sensitivity to, and awareness of the physical and emotional challenges that face individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Responsibilities:
Data entry. Prefer experience with eTapestry and Access databases.
Answer phones. Provide appointments, information about programs, and referrals to other community agencies as needed.
Create reports, spreadsheets, and flyers, as needed. Requires familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
Introduce the program to new participants as needed. Provide an orientation and tour of the facility.
Provide assistance to volunteers: Answer questions and assist volunteers with projects.
Supplies: Monitor status of internal forms, office and kitchen supplies. Make copies of forms and maintain inventory of supplies.
General Facility Support: Open and close the facility when required. Maintain the kitchen, library, and common areas. Organize materials. Prepare rooms for special programs and events and help clean afterwards.
Mailings: Get, sort, and distribute mail. Send out literature requests to participants and thank-you letters to donors. Ensure that the bimonthly calendar mailing process runs smoothly by assisting with proofreading, coordinating interoffice pick-up, and supervising volunteers.
Qualifications:
Sensitivity to and empathy for the needs of others.
Ability to multi-task.
Reliable and dedicated.
