We are looking for a full time Volunteer Coordinator professional with a self-starter attitude and a passion for building and executing a volunteer management program.  The successful candidate will bring proven experience in designing, executing and measuring the impact of a robust volunteer program.  This position reports to the Therapeutic Program Director and will be a critical contributor to the program’s overall success.  Candidates must have a proven track record in volunteer management and the following skills and experience:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years’ experience as a volunteer coordinator, preferably for a non-profit in Atlanta
  • Proven success in recruiting, engaging and retaining a diverse community of volunteers; experience in leveraging volunteer skills, abilities and connections to the benefit of the volunteers themselves and the organization
  • Horse/equine experience
  • Flexibility in work hours as occasional weekend work is required
  • Microsoft suite proficiency

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly organized and detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Team player with proactive, excellent interpersonal skills including a strong work ethic
  • Highly skilled with social media, computer use, MS Office suite; experience with or aptitude to quickly learn Salesforce/Equiforce
  • Experience working with volunteers or others as a supervisory role
  • Experience in working with a small, entrepreneurial nonprofit organization and ability to wear many hats.
  • Passion for equine assisted activities and therapies and our equine partners a definite plus!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish baseline metrics of our current volunteer base so that progress can be measured
  • Plan, build and manage a professional volunteer program through development, coordination, hands-on training and supervision of volunteers
  • Volunteer cultivation and relationship management – recruit, orient and retain volunteers to assist various CHP functions; understand interests and abilities of each volunteer to optimally engage, challenge and leverage skills and other assets
  • Monitor, track, evaluate and report measures of success
  • Assist with administrative aspects of a Premier Accredited PATH Intl organization.
  • Fill programmatic and organizational volunteer staffing needs; account for flexibility in case of volunteer commitment changes
  • Assist with technological aspects:  CRM software (Salesforce), social media, etc.
  • Collaborate with management for community presentations and attend pertinent community functions representing CHP
  • Abide by PATH Intl. standards and maintain Premiere Accredited Center status
  • Flexibility to work weekends as needed
