The Children’s School has an immediate opening for an experienced full-time Long-Term Substitute Teacher of Spanish for our 3rd - 8th grades.

The mission of The Children’s School (TCS) is to enrich minds and inspire dreams. TCS is a progressive elementary school serving students from age three through eighth grade in a diverse community in midtown Atlanta. Grounded in principles of excellence, innovation, and play, our graduates are passion-driven young adults who lead lives of purpose in an interconnected world.

The position is responsible for student learning, classroom instruction, and curriculum creation/ implementation, in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the School. In all language classrooms, teachers will be experienced language teachers, and the target language will be used more than 95% of the time. Ultimately, we aim to make language learning and the cultural components of that process an integral part of the TCS culture, environment, and curriculum, such that second and third language learning comes to be interwoven into the fabric of our diverse and inclusive school community.

A Master’s degree is preferred or Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education or Spanish. The Long-Term Substitute Teacher must have experience teaching in a classroom setting, preferably teaching Spanish. The Lead Teacher position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching children a second language in a classroom setting, preferably at an elementary age level. A proficiency in Spanish is required. The candidate must possess key competencies:
