Yale School of Drama/Yale Repertory Theatre (YSD/YRT) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor Adjunct in Technical Design and Production and Costume Shop Manager. This position is an exciting professional opportunity to work with one of the premier graduate training institutions in the country and shape future leaders and designers of the industry.

 

This position will be responsible for the supervision of the costume shop, the costume shop staff, and the execution of costumes for YSD/YRT productions; position will also serve as the adviser/supervisor for graduate students and guest costume designers. Additionally, this position will be responsible for teaching up to two graduate-level courses in costume production per semester, as agreed upon with the Chair of Technical Design and Production. Applicants should show leadership in the field, significant professional work in the theater at an advanced level, teaching experience, and demonstrated experience showing a commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion. Position requires advanced interpersonal, written and verbal communication, strategic thinking, prioritization, time-management, and problem solving skills, as well as a strongly demonstrated commitment to safety in the entertainment industry.  The appointment will be as an Assistant Professor Adjunct for an initial term of up to two (2) years, beginning July 1, 2019, renewable, and includes competitive salary with full faculty benefits.  To apply please submit a cover letter, C.V., and three (3) letters of reference.
