 Business Development/Fundraising Consultant

Roswell Arts Fund, the designated arts agency for the City of Roswell, is a powerful voice and advocate for the arts, strengthening the scope, quality, and diversity of the arts and striving to fully integrate the arts into the social and economic fabric that is uniquely Roswell. 

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, self-directed, and innovative Business Development/Fundraising Consultant to join our team. This is a part-time project based 1099 opportunity, with the potential for growth. No benefits are provided. 

Professionals with local/regional (Roswell, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta) knowledge and experience preferred. 

The Business Development/Fundraising Consultant will assume the responsibility to achieve stated financial objectives employing a variety of business development/fundraising vehicles. A major emphasis will be to expand sponsor base by identifying and closing new prospects.

The Business Development/Fundraising Consultant will report to the Board Chair in partnership with the Board of Directors, work with current staff partners and be responsible to track all activities on organizational project management program and report progress to the board on a monthly basis 

Candidates must bring demonstrated experience at closing sponsorships/donors and maintaining sponsor/donor relationships. Candidates must embody organizational values of integrity, resolve, collaboration, commitment, and flexibility; be an excellent communicator, organized, detail-oriented and comfortable with technology. Previous consulting experience required. Project Management and nonprofit experience preferred.


Business Development/Fundraising Infrastructure 

Work with Board to create Annual Business Development/Fundraising Plan and Budget establishing clear targets and calendar for success.


Roswell Arts Fund is currently using NEON platform for Revenue Management. Database, Revenue Tracking and Letter generation will be administered by our current Marketing & Outreach Administrator with input from the Business Development/Fundraising Consultant.

Revenue Generation - Strengthen, identify, create, and execute strategies/tactics to increase and sustain revenues, and grow regional philanthropic profile of Roswell Arts Fund.


  • Working with the Board of Directors and current staff partners to advance Individual Membership Program and create and launch Business membership program (Administration will be managed by our current Marketing & Outreach Administrator)


  • Secure Sponsors for Initiatives (ArtAround Roswell, Artistic Bike Racks, Street Pianos); Events/Galas/Meetings; General Operations
  • Create and Implement innovative Sponsor ROI packages
  • Cultivate and nurture current and future Sponsor relationships


     Create and Populate Prospect Lists (pipeline) in all Target Categories (to include name, contact information, method of approach, outcomes, dates) in Roswell and surrounding counties. Utilize wide range of methods (cold calling, research, networking, etc.) This is an ongoing process.

     Advance purchases of ArtAround Sculptures (annual temporary sculpture tour, 30% of each sale is commission for Roswell Arts Fund)

Donor Cultivation 

     Provide oversight and strategic direction and input for Donor Tracking and Measurement 

     Work with Marketing and Outreach to enhance Roswell Arts Fund communication and collateral to promote the organization to prospective donors and sponsors and community at large.


     Report weekly to Chair of Board of Directors and participate in team meetings

     Prepare monthly reports on prospective donors, sponsors, in kind support, and grants/foundations for the Roswell Arts Fund Board. Provide analysis of Projected versus Actual. 

     Submit monthly tracking reports on budgets, receipts, and expenditure related to management of the fund development activities. 

     Attend all full board and Executive Committee meetings monthly


  • minimum 5 years business development/fundraising experience 
  • previous consulting experience 
  • demonstrated revenue generation 
  • knowledge and insight into local/regional philanthropic culture
  • strong organizational skills

  • able to multi-task and process instructions from multiple people,
  • technology and social media savvy (experience with various business programs and platforms)
  • self-motivated and directed, able to work with limited supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution 
  • Professionals with local/regional (Roswell, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta) knowledge and experience is preferred. 
  • Project Management and nonprofit experience preferred

Hourly wage, paid on a 1099, dependent on experience.  Incentives for exceeding goals. No benefits provided. 

Majority of work can be done virtually off-site, but there will be occasions when in-office time is required, including but not limited to a weekly staff meeting. The Roswell Arts Fund office is located at 9100 Fouts Road, 30076. Occasional night and weekend hours may be required for events and meetings
