Job Description
 

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant that will thrive in a challenging, collaborative and empowering mission-focused work environment. This full-time position will be based in the CCS Corporate Office in Norcross, Ga. and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The position will have primary responsibility for the full accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, account reconciliations and financial reporting.

The Senior Staff Accountant will supervise one associate and will support the annual external audits and other regulatory reporting prepared by third parties and will be responsible for preparation of internal reporting and specified regulatory reporting. This person will have a strong work ethic, desire to serve others, effective time management skills, excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills, understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, strong written and verbal communication skills, process improvement orientation, coupled with experience working collaboratively with cross-functional team members.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Supervise one (1) financial associate
  • Ensure a timely, complete and accurate monthly close process
  • Record accounting entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Support CEO and Program Leaders in preparation of annual budget
  • Collaborate with Program Leaders to ensure program financial parameters are recorded accurately
  • Participate and co-lead the monthly financial results reviews with Program Leaders
  • Plan and deliver information requirements for fiscal year-end audit
  • Prepare periodic regulatory reporting and support third party preparers, as required
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement technology and financial process improvements
  • Compile and analyze financial reports and metrics vs. budget, prior year and trend
  • Develop, document and monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Passion for the Mission of CCS
  • High degree of character and integrity
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Competency in application of GAAP
  • A minimum 5 years of multi-faceted accounting experience
  • Proficient knowledge of intermediate Excel functionality
  • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements
  • Strong work ethic and sense of urgency
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and execute
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • The ability to interact professionally regarding confidential matters
  • Ability to take direction and work independently on assigned tasks
  • Desire for continuous skill development
  • English language fluency
