POSITION OVERVIEW

Georgia Appleseed Center for Law and Justice is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, public interest law center with the mission to increase justice in Georgia through law and policy reform and community engagement. Our vision is a Georgia where the voices of poor people, children and marginalized people are heard and where injustices that no one should endure are resolved. Georgia Appleseed’s current priorities fall in three programmatic areas, serving Georgians state-wide, by (1) dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline (STPP), (2) increasing public safety through relationships of trust and respect among and between community members and law enforcement, and (3) supporting community revitalization through state and local engagement and the implementation of research based recommendations for systemic change. 

 

The Development and Program Coordinator will further the mission and strategic goals of Georgia Appleseed through multi-level administrative support to the Director of Development to assist with ongoing fundraising events and activities. In addition, this position provides general administrative support to the program and operations of the organization, working with the Executive Director to provide Board and Committee support and the Director of Projects for periodic program evaluation and logistics coordination. 

 

This is a full-time position located at 1600 Parkwood Circle SE, Atlanta 30339, which is in Cobb County.

 

JOB DUTIES:

DEVELOPMENT

  • Assist with special events and fundraising activities
  • Process donations and create donor database reports & templates
  • Support and track web-based fundraising efforts
  • Process donor correspondence
  • Prepare donor cultivation packets and materials
  • Oversee and maintain grants database
  • Assist with grants calendar, paperwork, and grants research
  • Assist with reports for grant applications
  • Assist with publications, marketing and social media
  • Provide administrative support for the Development Committee and Young Professionals Council
  • Other duties as assigned

ADMINISTRATION & PROGRAMS

  • Manage calendars for staff, Board and committee meetings
  • Provide logistical support for Board and staff meetings
  • Maintain website and intranet
  • Procure supplies, equipment and furniture
  • Process certain bank transactions
  • Serve as liaison to host’s building operations
  • Coordinate IT services
  • Research viable hardware/software and web-based solutions
  • Provide logistical support for project activities
  • Assist in development of evaluation and tracking methodologies and assist with reports
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience working in nonprofits
  • Experience with the internet, technology, website maintenance, and cloud-based applications
  • Software proficiency with donor databases, Microsoft Office 365
  • Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience coordinating calendars and scheduling meetings
  • High level of productivity and initiative handling multiple projects in a fast-paced and busy environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to establish positive, personable, and professional relationships via email, phone, and in person
  • Positive, can-do attitude, sense of humor, ability to be flexible, and extend grace under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to trouble-shoot and triage
  • Demonstrated commitment to justice issues
