Role Overview:
AYTEF is a non‐profit organization in Atlanta, Georgia that seeks to enrich the lives of underserved youth through tennis and education both on and off the court. AYTEF needs a dynamic and energetic individual with a passion for youth development to be its next Executive Director (ED). Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for AYTEF’s programming, community relationships, employees, volunteers, fundraising development, growth, and execution of its mission and strategic plan. The position will require the candidate to develop deep knowledge of AYTEF’s core programs, partnerships, operations, and strategic plan.
Primary Responsibilities:
Programming
- Oversee the development, planning and execution of AYTEF’s programming, including specifically at Washington Park
- Work with the Board to identify new programming opportunities, including expansion to other tennis sites
- Develop and compile metrics to evaluate and report on programming impact
Fundraising & Revenue
- Collaborate with AYTEF’s Board to:
- Expand revenue‐generating activities for current program operations and future expansion goals
- Identify and cultivate corporate, community, and individual prospects and donors
- Oversee and execute fundraising events, including AYTEF’s annual fundraising campaign
- Develop and work toward fundraising goals to meet or exceed AYTEF’s overall budget
Foundation Development
- Assist with development and administration of a database of donors, prospects, and grant funders
- Develop and manage a yearly calendar for various fundraising and grant activities to ensure strategic planning and critical processes are carried out in a timely manner
- Write and oversee funding proposals, grant applications, and reports for all individual, foundation, and corporate fundraising and grants
- Work collaboratively with the Board and staff
- Cultivate and manage a productive partnership between AYTEF and other foundations, such as, USTA Foundation, ALTA Foundation, and Laureus Sport for Good
- Continue to cultivate and manage relationships with USTA Atlanta, Universal Tennis Academy (“UTA”) and other strategic and community partners
Public Relations & Communication
- Develop and execute a public relations strategy utilizing print‐, web‐, and social media‐based communication tools to promote a strong AYTEF brand
- Create and/or oversee the creation of monthly and year end newsletter, outreach and promotional materials, and general content for website
- Serve as the face of AYTEF and primary public spokesperson for the organization
Fiscal
- Work with AYTEF’s Board to develop annual budgets and profit and loss statements (P&L) for AYTEF overall and for AYTEF’s primary programs and events
- Manage daily fiscal operations and the overall P&L to maximize income and control expenses, achieve budget adherence, and ensure ongoing financial stability
- Grow programming, operations, and funding to increase AYTEF’s overall operating budget
Leadership
- Contribute to the development of a strong Board of Directors
- Consult with the Board president or EVP to create agenda and prepare materials and reports for Board meetings in advance of meetings
- Assist with Board and committee meetings
- Demonstrate and promote AYTEF’s mission and values while representing AYTEF
People Relations
- Manage staff, including development, job descriptions, performance, and recruiting
- Consult with the Executive Committee regarding terms and conditions of employment for staff, such as compensation, pay increases, and bonuses
- Develop and maintain a core network of volunteers and manage volunteers as needed
- Ensure all organizational paperwork is timely completed, such as background checks, licensing, conflict disclosures, handbook acknowledgements, Board commitment forms, business, state, and federal government paperwork to maintain 501(c)(3) status, and insurance policies

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Background in education, childhood development, and/or business/marketing
- Passion for improving the lives of under‐resourced and at‐risk children
- Create a culture of excellence and best practices in non‐profit management
- Experience writing and securing grants and funding from foundations, government agencies (local, state and federal) and private donors
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational and managerial skills
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of local non‐profit sector and community preferred
- Sports Industry and/or tennis knowledge a plus
