Summary of Duties
The Development Director (DD) sets the fundraising strategy to raise $900,000 annually in coordination with the Board and Executive Director (ED). He/she drives all aspects of fundraising, including individual, corporate, foundation giving and special events. The DD works with the ED and the Board to ensure an effective donor relations program. The DD reports directly to the ED.

Fundraising Strategy

  • Develop and implement a detailed annual development plan and fundraising strategy in collaboration with the ED, Board and External Committee

Individual Giving/ Donor Relations

  • Expand Kate’s Club’s individual donors, implementing best practices in cultivation, stewardship and appeals

Corporate Giving

  • Design, research  and implement corporate giving opportunities and sponsor agreements
  • Work in conjunction with  Kate’s Club’s volunteer manager to recruit, and retain corporate volunteers

Foundation Relations

  • Design, research, implement and steward foundation relationships and proposals

Donor Data Management and Correspondence

  • Oversee the overall management of donor data management and correspondence

Special Event Management

  • Work with the Executive Director, Program Staff, Board Members and Volunteer committees to successfully design and execute Kate’s Club’s special events

Marketing Communications

  • Design and help implement the communications efforts of Kate’s Club, maintaining a master communications calendar, including social media, blogs, appeals, newsletters, events and annual report
  • Oversee Kate’s Club branding

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-7 years fundraising experience
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising
  • Excellent communications skills, including written and verbal
  • Strong technical skills in Word, Excel, Constant Contact, donor management software and Social media
  • Event planning
  •  Proven track record in the Atlanta philanthropic community
