The Connecticut Humane Society, is seeking an experienced Campaign Manager in Fairfield County. This position will:

  • Provide staff leadership for a statewide Campaign
  • Oversee the campaign development and implementation
  • Create solicitation strategies that include multiple philanthropic vehicles
  • Prepare staff and volunteers for donor solicitation
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit major campaign gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations

The successful candidate will add leadership and energy to the capital campaign, setting the direction with campaign leadership and growing it to the match the success of the organization’s core programs. This is a hands on position with a nice balance of external donor activities and internal campaign management assignments, including preparing agendas, meeting materials and follow up and coordination cultivation events. This person will also work with the marketing department and consultants to develop campaign collateral materials and a campaign communications plan.

The Campaign Manager must be passionate about the mission of the Connecticut Humane Society and able to express that passion articulately and effectively.  Doing so will require superior communication skills, including the ability to write well, to speak effectively in groups large and small and in one-on-one conversations, and the ability and willingness to listen actively and attentively.  Superior relationship-building skills, both internally and externally, are an absolute requirement and a record of success must be exhibited.  This position will need to work collaboratively and effectively with other department members and other senior staff.

The Manager must be experienced and have proven success working on a campaign and securing major gifts, preferably in Fairfield County.  This position requires 3 to 5 years’ experience in philanthropy and a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.  Must have demonstrated experience working with volunteer leadership. This position is centered in Westport, CT and reports to the Director of Development.
