Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, on the campus of Emory University, is hiring a full-time Church Administrator (CA). The Church Administrator is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the business affairs of the church in the areas of office management, finance and budgeting, human resources, insurance and risk management, information technology, and food service. The CA directly supervises the Financial Assistant and the Receptionist/Administrative Assistant and supervises contracted maintenance, custodial and food service agreements with the church.  The CA works as a liaison with Emory University personnel in the coordination of building issues and maintenance.  The Church Administrator reports directly to the Senior Pastor, under the general supervision of the Church Council, as exercised through the Staff Parish Relations Committee.

The successful candidate will be a caring, ministry-oriented person with proven administrative, financial, supervisory, and organizational skills.  Five years of experience in business administration with supervisory and budgetary responsibilities is required. 

Other desirable qualifications include experience with facility management, administration in a church or non-profit setting, human resources, financial reporting and analysis, and/or oversight of management information systems.  (Experience with ACS Technologies is a plus.) Excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written) are necessary, as are tact and discretion with confidential information.  The Church Administrator will possess enthusiasm for working as part of a management team to promote and implement the vision and goals of the church, and provide positive and service-oriented leadership to the staff.  Bachelors degree is required; masters degree in Business Administration is a plus.  Certification in The Church Network (formerly known as National Association of Church Business Administrators) is desired.  Experience as a church business administrator is preferred.
