Development & Communications Manager

.7 FTE - 28 hours/week

L’Arche Atlanta is currently accepting applications for a part-time Development & Communications Manager.

The Development & Communications Manager is responsible for planning and executing the development, communications, and marketing required to successfully reach fundraising goals each fiscal year. This includes preparation and mailing of all donor communications, database administration, special events coordination and execution, graphic design, website management, prospect research and identification, file maintenance, press releases, and volunteer organization. This position reports to the Executive Director, with whom the successful candidate will work closely to formulate the strategies to achieve L’Arche Atlanta’s fundraising goals.

This position is also responsible for drafting content for website updates, social media outreach and communications, and other communications duties necessary to achieve fundraising goals and oversees any freelancers or interns hired for communications purposes. This position also oversees the L’Arche social community events and chairs and manages the Young Professionals Board.

Through these efforts the Development & Communications Manager helps L’Arche Atlanta to achieve the annual fundraising and communications goals for the organization. The Development & Communications Manager must exercise discretion and independent judgment in determining the best possible approach to the significant work of development and marketing for L’Arche Atlanta.

The successful candidate will have one to three years of experience in development, preferably in the social services arena. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Familiarity with fundraising data base programs is also preferred, like Bloomerang or Etapestry, as well as familiarity with Google Apps, Adobe Creative Suite, and an online content management system, like Weebly. Superior analytical skills and computer proficiency required, specifically with mail merges and spreadsheets. Demonstrated success/proven record with developing relationships with current and prospective funders.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; also outstanding attention to detail and deadlines. Exhibit calm, helpful, kindly and courteous demeanor toward all staff, donors, and public.

Compensation: Up to $45K, commensurate with experience. Generous PTO.
