Academic Technology Specialist I

Seeking a qualified individual to maintain the organizational database, the collection and maintenance of data within, which supports student, center, member, fundraising and event records. This position engages in routine/as-needed reviews of data to ensure accuracy and integrity of data. Designs and reviews various audit reports of data, corrects data entry errors. Responds to inquiries concerning established policies and procedures pertaining to data and departmental operations. Keeps abreast of policies and procedures pertaining to record maintenance, ensures privacy of records, identifies issues/problems with database management policies/procedures and recommends possible solutions; designs and/or distributes various reports generated from existing data.
Position deploys technology hardware and/or software applications via in-person and virtual assistance for students, faculty, staff and selected guests. Supports and utilizes monitoring tools to troubleshoot incidents and enhance availability of services. Participates in development and assessment of academic technologies and supports learning-based technologies in multiple formats. May perform equipment refreshes and hardware installations; troubleshoot/identify issues and initiate fixes and resolutions; recommends and oversees purchasing of necessary equipment; and liaisons with external IT providers to maintain optimal performance of systems. Supports organizational network access for faculty, staff and students; coordinates with vendors and contractors to meet customer needs for out-sourced technology support. Maintains any required auxiliary equipment to supplement and/or replace deployed equipment and technologies. Performs testing, inspection and monitoring to assure established expectations are met. Conducts orientations and training sessions to build user skills. Researches new products to remain current with market trends and recent technology requirements, and provides product recommendations to ensure effective operability and customer satisfaction. Performs related responsibilities as required.
Responsibilities will include occasional travel. Other duties may be requested as needed to support the overall team in achieving excellence in service to the organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience with IT, Instructional Technology, A/V Event Support Services, Video Technologies, or other related fields is preferred.
