The Relationship Manager is responsible for assisting with the development and monitoring of marketing and communications serving approximately 10,000 Gates Millennium Alumni and Scholars. The Relationship Manager will be an ambassador for the program and will build relationships with all Alumni/Scholars with the goal of advancing UNCF’s mission, vision and values, as well as driving broader awareness and Alumni donor support. The position also assists in all facets of development for the Gates Millennium Scholar Alumni online professional community, web development and management and leveraging social media platforms (existing and new).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Build and nurture connection to both current and future alumni communities via online communication tools and social media.
Provide support for alumni engagement and serve as a participant in planning and coordination with the work of other functional departments.
Assist in management of the website, social media presence, and updates to all online content.
Assist in management and engagement of scholars and alumni.
Oversee development of collateral pieces to include graphic design and copy.
Work with the Alumni Manager to develop and maintain a comprehensive web interface and alumni social media strategy that defines how social media marketing techniques will be applied to increase visibility and traffic across the alumni brand, programs, communication and services.
Coordinate and edit content for various purposes, such as e-newsletters, handbooks, Council communications, web pages, news items and announcements, publicity and press releases.
Document events and news via photography and videography.
Coordinate and maintain external and internal communications, and initiate alumni marketing and fundraising efforts.
Analyze and assist in solving issues with current and planned systems, identifying data duplicates or other errors to provide ongoing communication and reports.
Interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings in order to develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results.
Assist in the development and maintenance of databases and data systems necessary for alumni-related projects and other functions.
Acquire and abstract primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources.
Perform data entry, either manually or using scanning technology, when needed or required.
Interface with Scholars and Alumni at community engagement events.
Various general administrative projects as required.
