Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA) combines the art of partnership and collaboration with the science needed to catalyze relationships across organizations, disciplines, sectors, and ideologies to amplify efforts to transform the lives of people around the globe. The first alliance of its kind in the world, 2017 marks WGHA’s 10th anniversary.

Long a hub of global health innovation, Washington state is home to a diverse array of foundations, research institutions, nonprofits, and life sciences companies. Founded by global health leaders in 2007 and now including more than 70 members, the WGHA works to strategically connect Washington’s global health stakeholders to enhance their collective impact, partner more strategically and speak with a united voice.

The WGHA seeks a visionary, inspirational and strategic President & CEO to build on the organization’s success and develop and drive WGHA’s strategy in the next decade and beyond. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, be an effective coalition-builder, possess knowledge about the global health field, and have the standing and respect to inspire leaders and organizations to work collaboratively.

Reporting to a distinguished Board of Directors, WGHA’s next leader will be dedicated to deepening WGHA’s commitment to connect and to serve as a champion for the region’s global health community while developing and executing strategies to achieve significant impact and ensure the sustainability of the organization.

Candidates must have a minimum of ten years of experience and a track record of executive leadership. A background in global health and development and knowledge of Washington State’s global health sector is ideal. Outstanding interpersonal, written, and public speaking communications skills are essential.  Experience with growth and management of membership organizations is a plus. An advanced degree such as a Master’s in public health, business, communications, international relations or related field is highly desirable.

The position is based in Seattle, Washington and requires occasional domestic and international travel.

The WGHA is a progressive, equal opportunity employer and all candidates are encouraged to apply. The position is open until filled, but interested parties are encouraged to submit a cover letter and resume as soon as possible to Ed Rogan at ed@sqr-2.com. Review will begin by the end of January and screening interviews will follow. Questions or requests for more information may be directed to Mr. Rogan as well (ed@sqr-2.com; 206.697.8428).
