The San Francisco based Scleroderma Research Foundation (SRF) was established in 1987 by patient and activist, Sharon Monsky, as the only organization in the nation dedicated exclusively to finding a cure for scleroderma, a little-known, but widespread autoimmune disease. Since its inception, the SRF has become America’s largest nonprofit investor in medical research aimed at understanding scleroderma, discovering improved therapies and, ultimately, finding a cure. As of today, the SRF has raised nearly $40 million to support scleroderma research.
