Politisit is an Oregon-based non-profit that increases civic participation by removing a barrier to families - the cost of childcare.  It's a simple model: the client sets up child care to participate in a civic meeting or activity and we reimburse the costs within 48 hours via Paypal or 10 days by check. We work with individual families that arrange childcare in their homes while attending a meeting; partner with nonprofits that host childcare at their meetings; and collaborate with local government agencies and elected officials trying to increase attendance by ensuring childcare is available at public meetings. We have also provided childcare to voters who need it to get to the polls.
