Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation

About Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation

The Sullivan Foundation was created in 1934 to honor individuals who show remarkable character and integrity and demonstrate a commitment to service to others. The Foundation presents annual awards recognizing such outstanding students and community members at 69 institutions and provides scholarships to students at 24 colleges and universities. Sullivan Awards are highly prized and have been awarded to people whose lives of service have changed the world with little fanfare as well as those who have become household names.  Today, the Sullivan Foundation is growing beyond scholarships and awards to encourage the study of philanthropy, service and social entrepreneurship on all college campuses. The Foundation currently offers a variety of programming and weekend retreats for students and faculty members who are interested in harnessing the power of social innovation and entrepreneurship to tackle difficult issues in their communities.
