Located not far from downtown Denver, The Gathering Place (TGP) is the only metro area resource center specifically serving women, children, and transgender individuals who – whether housed or not – are experiencing persistent poverty. We refer to those we serve as “members” and our generous donors ensure that they have access to TGP services and programs for free. Always.

TGP helps members help themselves by offering comprehensive services and programs, which are provided free of charge and utilize trauma-informed care practices.  The overarching goals are to meet basic needs, foster personal growth, and build a community support system that is often lacking in the lives of those who come seeking assistance.

Our work is guided by our belief in hope as an important change agent, and we hold that hope for everyone, even when they do not hold it for themselves. We believe deeply in the power of community and work continuously to develop it. Our key values include recognizing individual strengths, building respect and trust, and offering acceptance unconditionally.  TGP is not just a service organization; we are committed advocates for those we serve.  We promote social justice for every woman, child, and transgender individual in the Denver community.

Last year, 5,408 adults and 1,664 children visited a total of 55,291 times.  Among many other accomplishments, 60,222 meals were served, 5 adult learners earned high school equivalency certificates, and 368 individuals utilized job readiness programming.
