Our Aim High site in the Bayview is looking for a lead teacher of three sections of 9th grade science for these dates- July 2- July 28.

Aim High is the largest academic summer program provider in the Bay Area. Our program combines engaging and challenging academic classes with enriching activities and events that create opportunities for leadership development and community exploration. This is a great opportunity for new teachers who want to gain hands-on experience leading a classroom, planning lessons, and working with other teachers. Students join Aim High after fifth or sixth grade and participate for three or four consecutive summers for free.

Job Description

Part or full time 9th grade lead science teacher position- July 2- July 28 (ends on a Saturday).  We are open to applicants who can commit only to teaching in the mornings (leave by 12:20) or those who wish to work the full day. Here are some details about the lead teacher position at Aim HIgh.

Lead Teachers (LT) teach core academic classes (Math, Science, Humanities, Issues + Choices) to middle school students. They also lead afternoon activities and write students evaluations at the end of the summer. LTs help to ensure that Aim High CORE values (Community, Opportunity, Respect, High Expectations) are brought to life by students and fellow
staff members. LTs are challenged to deliver hands-on curriculum that is relevant and interesting to youth, and that builds skills necessary for success in middle and high school.
