Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer (Formerly It’s The Journey) is a registered 501c3 non-profit that strives to support Georgia’s breast cancer community by raising funds to support breast health and breast cancer programs throughout the state!

The Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer is our premier fundraising event. Since 2002, the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer (formerly the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer) has raised over $18.2 million to fund 509 grants that provide breast cancer education, screening, early detection, support services, and continuing care for Georgians.

Each year at GAABC’S Giving Gala, we celebrate the programs funded by the previous year’s 2-Day Walk, and raise even more money for those programs with an elegant night out on the town!

Our Georgia 5K Run for Breast Cancer is a family-friendly run/walk event that celebrates breast cancer patients and survivors while raising funds that help support programs serving Middle Georgia.

Connecting communities with our mission, our Celebrating Survivors Breakfast series allows breast cancer patients and survivors to enjoy a complimentary breakfast while exploring topics unique to their lives with the help of an expert panel!

Our Mission Statement

Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer’s  mission is to engage with Georgia’s breast cancer community to increase access to care and reduce disparities in cancer outcomes.

Our History

Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer (Formerly It’s The Journey) – producer of the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer – is a local organization founded in 2002 by a breast cancer survivor, Randi Passoff. When the Avon 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk pulled out of Atlanta in 2002, Randi, a long time walker, decided that Atlanta needed a fundraising event wherein all of the funds stayed local to support Georgia breast cancer patients and breast health programs.  She created what we call “the kinder and gentler breast cancer walk.”  Instead of the 3-Day model of walking 60 miles over 3 days and sleeping in a tent, the Georgia 2-Day Walk covers 30 miles over 2 days and participants sleep in a hotel.
