Ventures ATL is a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to provide opportunities for meaningful and sustainable employment to qualified adults with autism or other developmental disabilities. 

The vast majority of adults with autism or other developmental disabilities are unemployed or underemployed. At the same time, there is strong demand for people with the skills that these adults possess.  Many of these adults are suitably skilled to thrive in performing the essential functions of many of the jobs for which there is demand.  Ventures ATL employs these qualified candidates by securing projects that appeal to their skills.   In doing so, we decrease the gap between skill supply and labor demand, offer sustainable work in focused areas, encourage independence through gainful employment, and provide the conditions to deliver a positive work and social experience.  By finding employment for these adults, the perspective of their lives begins to shift from that of a societal cost to that of a more independent individual.

The short-term measurable goals of Ventures include the launching of 2-3 businesses that will employ at least 20 people within the first twelve months of operation.   The longer-term goals are to operate 4-5 distinct businesses and employ between 50 and 100 people while providing an example that can be replicated in Atlanta and elsewhere.
