Founded in 1888, the Atlanta Bar Association is a respected and storied institution that serves its members with innovative programs and services that stay in step with the ever changing legal landscape. Our membership includes lawyers, law school students, patent agents and legal assistants, among others, and are as diverse and varied as the activities and programs we provide.

COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

The Atlanta Bar Association seeks to eliminate biases, barriers and prejudices within the legal profession by creating and promoting environments that treat all individuals with respect and dignity. Diversity is an inclusive concept and encompasses, without limitation, race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, age, disability, and marital and parental status. We believe that the varied perspectives and backgrounds of our members are central to the Atlanta Bar Association's success as an organization and are valuable to the public we serve.

The Atlanta Bar Association is committed to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and within our association through, among other things: our programming; our lead role in the founding of and our support of the Multi Bar Leadership Council; our pipeline programs that introduce diverse youth and law students into the legal field; and our relationships with our members, staff, sponsors, and the broader community. Further, we encourage our members to volunteer and seek leadership opportunities within the Atlanta Bar so that our organization reflects the full diversity of our community.
