  • Provide exceptional daily HR service to clients.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and strategic leadership to client executives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies and trainings, and keeping a laser-focus on achieving organizational and client objectives.
  • Lead complex client HR engagements, coach managers as a trusted partner, and liaise with client contacts and internal account managers.
  • Manage complex organizational, personnel, cultural, management and staffing situations and trainings related to organizational diversity and equity efforts, rapid or planned growth, restructuring, terminations, performance, conflict resolution, etc.
  • In partnership with internal leadership and client leaders, develop and lead efforts to achieve increased client impact, efficiency, and accountability.

  Internal Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the HR senior director in developing and supporting HR’s objectives, outputs, and standards. Lead new planned and reactionary strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Partner with the HR senior director to lead strategic business development initiatives, including supporting, developing and prototyping new initiatives related to impact and efficiency.
  • Help to manage the benefits plan design, execution and renewals.
  • Help to lead improvements to processes, systems, strategies and approaches affecting internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Maintain and deploy working knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and benefit plans.  

  Training and Capacity Building

  • Support annual strategy of DEI, anti-harassment and overall proactive training efforts by helping to develop and manage the philosophies, systems, resources, partners, vehicles, cadence, and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Coordinate training for efforts associated with: compliance with laws and policies; capacity building; skills building; practical application of racial and gender equity concepts.
  • Provide project management for programs related to diversity and equity, particularly managing adherence to timelines, budgets, objectives and metrics, as well as managing logistics and stakeholder.
  • Help to develop, deploy, analyze and track success metrics.
  • Help to identify and curate list of external partners to address identified training needs.
  • Operating within pre-defined frameworks, partner with clients to develop and implement custom DEI-oriented strategies, including training, compensation, management, retention and recruiting
  • Stay well informed of trends and innovations related to diversity, equity and inclusion to assess the effectiveness of on-going efforts and identify and develop new initiatives, approaches, and programs

  To Be Successful in This Role, You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; preference for a Master’s in HR, HR certification, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in leadership and leading strategic initiatives, staff management, and engagement with executives.
  • Experience with successful diversity and inclusion strategies
  • Experience in, and well-developed point of view on, effective training & development programs.
  • Experience negotiating and managing employee benefits programs.
  • Strong project management skills to drive projects to completion
  • Experience with client management, including engaging and coaching executives.
  • Experience managing complex and sensitive personnel situations, particularly in the context of organizational change.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills with a collaborative approach to working with others at all levels of seniority
  • Familiarity with labor law. Knowledge of California labor law a plus.
  • Ability to balance strict compliance with business need and maintain focus on strategic priorities and discretion in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Ability to instantly instill confidence and establish a trusted partner relationship with executives.
  • High comfort level dealing with situations that are unplanned, new terrain, and high stakes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service mentality and high degree of integrity, accountability, and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to manage a high volume of tasks with shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Superior analytic and problem-solving skills with a thoughtful approach to addressing challenges
  • Experience in a progressive, mission-driven, and entrepreneurial environment
  • Optimism, adaptability, and a good sense of humor
  • Experience in a PEO or equivalent a plus
