Position Overview:

The Director of Programs is responsible for overseeing all programs of the Living Room. Working directly with the Executive Director and program staff, the Director of Programs ensures program goals are achieved with compliance to policy and procedures required by all funding sources.

 

Responsibilities:

Staff Development

  • Assists with the recruitment, orientation, and retention of program staff
  • Assists with monitoring program staff compliance with policies and procedures
  • Provides initial and ongoing training and support to staff
  • Ensures every program staff member has an individualized development plan

Program Development

  • Work as directed to support the organization and team
  • Prepares program reports for HOPWA, FEMA, DCA, and other program funding sources
  • Consults with program staff as necessary to approve eligible housing providers and completes MOU and agreements with providers and partner agencies
  • Serve as the primary liaison with housing providers, housing agencies, landlords and other referral sources
  • Identifies and selects housing providers
  • Ensures housing providers/landlords are accurately paid in a timely manner
  • Approves all check requests and submits to Director of Finance for payment
  • Ensures the intake process is customer-service oriented for both clients and partner agencies
  • Accompany program staff on client home visits periodically to ensure delivery of case management services
  • Collects data from client satisfaction surveys
  • Ensures all programs track outcome data appropriately
  • Completes statistical reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis
  • Ensures that all services are delivered in accordance with the policies and procedures mandated by funding sources
  • Oversees implementation of new programs and works with Executive Director to expand existing programs as funds are available
  • Assists with maintaining and updating Policies and Procedures Manual

Staff Management

  • Supervises all program staff
  • Ensures that performance reviews are completed for all staff
  • Resolves disputes between clients and program staff
  • Provides conflict resolution among program staff

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct service experience working with an at-risk population and a minimum of 5 year of supervisory experience required
  • Experience managing HOPWA programs is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Atlanta region’s community, housing, and HIV related services and resources
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports and manage budgets and knowledge of funder requirements for documentation and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise professional staff
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to individuals in a non-judgmental manner
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, homelessness, mental illness, and/or addiction required
