Overview:  Atlanta Habitat’s mission is to transform communities by acting as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization through education, innovative development, partnerships, and long-term relationships with families. Our service area includes city of Atlanta and the cities and neighborhoods of South Fulton.

Position Summary: The Social Media Consultant will design and implement social media strategies that include strong integration of content from Atlanta Habitat’s programs, audience segmentation and measurement. This individual will be an integral part of our Communications Department and will report to the Vice President of Communications.

The position is a temporary, six-month contract role. This is a part-time role with projected maximum of 25 hours per week. Consultant may need to attend meetings and perform work during Atlanta Habitat’s office hours of 8:30 am to 5 pm, Mondays through Fridays and some weekends.  The Consultant will act as an independent contractor in the performance of its duties under this contract and is therefore responsible for payment of all taxes and is not eligible for any benefits.  The individual will also need dependable transportation to travel to house dedications and other events.

Scope of Work

  • Develop and manage social media strategy to drive awareness of Atlanta Habitat programs and services via all social media platforms
  • Create content calendars, write social copy for channels and post
  • Analyze available insights and define overall social strategy for distribution and amplification
  • Design strategies that focus on the amplification of content (on relevant social channels) to the right audiences to achieve specific communications engagement goals
  • Measure the impact of social media activity and provide regular reports
  • Collaborate with departments to drive collaborative storytelling that align with communications goals and organization’s strategic priorities
  • Manage media monitoring, analysis and monthly reporting; and other media relations duties
  • Provide regular oversite and updates to website
  • Work some weekends to photograph and post house dedications and other special events to appropriate social channels

Qualified Candidates will meet the following requirements:

Education and experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional social marketing with proven examples of strategies developed and managed
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field

 

 

Other skills:

  • Strong understanding of analytics with ability to generate monthly reports/metrics for organic and paid social media
  • Strong content writing for social media with ability to create content that appeals to target audiences and organization goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with running paid social media campaigns
  • Exemplary project and time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with social media management tools
  • Proactive, collaborative team player with positive attitude and ability to be successful in constantly changing environment
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical ability
  • Ability to foster collaborative and productive working relationships within the organization, community and business
